What a BYD wiring diagram shows
A wiring diagram is a map of one electrical circuit: the power source, the fuse or relay that protects it, every wire and connector along the way, the control module that switches it and the ground point that closes it. BYD splits the car into systems (power supply, body, chassis, high-voltage, ADAS and so on), with one or more diagrams per system.
Reading the labels
| Label | Example | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Wire colour + size | R 8.0, B/Y 0.35 | Wire colour (main/stripe) and cross-section in mm². B/Y 0.35 is a black wire with a yellow stripe, 0.35 mm². |
| Fuse | F1/50 | Fuse number 50 in fuse box F1. The fuse box location is shown in the element position diagram. |
| Connector + pin | B44_3 -1 | Connector code and pin number. Use it to find the plug on the car and the pin to measure. |
| Splice | SP4778 | A joint inside the harness where several wires meet. |
| Power feeds | IG1, IG3, ACC, 30 | When a circuit has power: ignition stages, accessory, or permanent battery feed (30). |
Common wire colour abbreviations
B black · W white · R red · G green · Y yellow · L blue · Br brown · Gr grey · O orange · P pink · V violet. Two letters separated by a slash mean a main colour with a stripe. Always check the legend in the manual if a code is unfamiliar.
How to trace a circuit in 5 steps
- Open the diagram for the system that has the fault (for example Power supply or Lighting).
- Find the part that does not work and follow its wire back to the fuse or relay that feeds it.
- Note every connector and pin on the way; these are your test points.
- Check the ground side as well: many faults are a bad ground, not a missing feed.
- Use the element position view to find where each connector physically sits in the car.
Clickable diagrams
In our online viewer every clickable component code is marked in blue. Click a fuse, connector or splice to open every other diagram it appears in, plus its position in the car. Use the Links button to hide the marks for a clean view, and pinch or scroll to zoom.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I find BYD wiring diagrams?
Owner manuals from BYD do not include wiring diagrams. Workshops use service information sites like this one, where the diagrams for each BYD model open online on a phone or PC.
What does L mean in a BYD wire colour code?
L means blue. B is black, so blue uses L to avoid confusion.
What does the number after the wire colour mean?
It is the wire cross-section in mm², for example 0.35, 0.5 or 8.0. Thicker wires carry more current.
